NIPSTA’s Rope Rescue Technician “bridge” program is designed for individuals who have successfully completed the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) Vertical II certification prior to the release of the 2017 OSFM Rope Rescue Technician course. NIPSTA’s Rope Technician Bridge Course covers the required advanced skills needed to update Vertical II students to the current NFPA 1670 Technician level standards. Students will leave prepared to operate as a member of a regional team capable of responding to statewide emergencies involving CBRNE or WMD, where advanced rope rescue may be needed.
