2012 Trauma/EMS Symposium Scheduled for June 4th

The 2012 Trauma/EMS Symposium is a collaborative effort that addresses the continuum of care for the injured/ill person.  Interdisciplinary cooperation is a hallmark of a coordinated system for patient care. 

 

Target audience: Registered nurses, and fire & EMS professionals.

 

This activity has been submitted to WNA CEAP for approval to award contact hours.  Wisconsin Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

 

Continuing education hours for EMS personnel have been applied for from the Illinois Department of Public Health.

 

Program includes breakfast and lunch.

2011 Trauma/EMS Symposium a Success Yet Again

The 2011 Trauma/EMS Symposium is a collaborative effort that addresses the continuum of care for the injured/ill person.  Interdisciplinary cooperation is a hallmark of a coordinated system for patient care.  Therefore, fire, nursing, & EMS professionals were in attendance on June 1st for this full-day event.

Training topics included:

- Submersion Injuries

- Critical Care Medicine

- Underage Drinking

- Gang Violence

- Left Ventricular Assist Devices

A vendor exhibit area, offered in combination with these "hot topic" presentations, made for a complete day of professional networking and education.  The Oakton Community College Campus in Des Plaines hosted an audience of more than 200 persons for the second straight year.
