
A collaborative partnership between Cook County Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Management and NIPSTA results in this 40-hour program designed to provide students with basic vehicle and machinery extrication skills.
Training topics include safety, tools and equipment, vehicle stabilization, and patient access and removal. These will be addressed in a classroom environment and during multiple extrication training scenarios.

Students are required to provide their own equipment which consists of full turnout gear, including hand and eye protection.
The Illinois OSFM now requires Vehicle/Machinery Operations prior to receiving the Advanced Technician Firefighter Certification.
