This 24-hour State-certified program is designed to provide basic trench rescue skills and techniques to all participants. This course will meet the requirements of NFPA 1006 and 1670 and prepare students for emergency response to the scene of a trench and excavation rescue.
Training topics include federal regulations, safety, monitoring, protection systems, entry and egress paths, shoring and shielding systems, and victim retrieval. These will be addressed in a classroom environment and during multiple trench and excavation rescue training evolutions. Written and practical skills testing will be conducted at the conclusion of the course.
Students are required to provide their own equipment:
Helmet, safety glasses, work gloves, and steel toe boots.
