Rope Rescue Technician
This 40- hour program has been designed to complete the requirements of a Level II Rope Rescuer as defined by NFPA 1006 Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications.
This course will prepare students for emergency response to the scene of a technician level rope rescue incident. Training topics include safety, new technology in rope rescue, advanced rigging of high anchor points and directional, and accessing victims on erected structures. This course will include multiple rigging scenarios for moving rescue loads along horizontal paths, including skate blocks, cross-haul systems, guiding lines, and high-lines. These will be addressed in a classroom environment and during multiple vertical training evolutions. Written and practical skills testing will be conducted at the conclusion of this course.
Students are required to provide their own equipment:
Helmet, class 3 harness, work boots & gloves appropriate for rope exercises.
