A collaborative partnership between the Cook County Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Management and NIPSTA results in this training session. Training topics include an orientation to terrorist events, vehicle stabilization during emergencies, cribbing and patient access, and removal of victims from large and heavy vehicles. Learning objectives will be addressed in a classroom environment along with multiple, complex extrication training scenarios.

This program may require students to travel off-site on multiple training days to complete course objectives. Details will be provided on the first day of the program.
Tuition is waived for first responders in Cook County and credential members of state-wide specialized teams recognized by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency. Cook County and state-wide responders will be given priority for registration. Du Page, Lake, Will, McHenry and Kane County personnel with the potential to respond under mutual aid agreements with Cook County will be registered on a space available basis.

Cancellation Policy: Notice of cancellation must be received in writing by NIPSTA at least two (2) weeks prior to the first day of the scheduled training program. Substitute requests will not be accepted.
If notice of cancellation is not received by NIPSTA before the first day of the scheduled training program, then 100% of the tuition fee shall be due and payable to NIPSTA.
NIPSTA reserves the right to cancel a course. Notice of cancellation will be provided to students at least seven (7) days prior to the first day of the program. Cancellations with less than seven (7) days" notice will only be in the event of an emergency.
