A collaborative partnership between the Cook County Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Management and NIPSTA supports this two-day, State-certified program intended for emergency response personnel who are likely to command a hazardous materials/CBRNE incident above the initial response level. It is also aimed at emergency management personnel whose duties require close coordination with the incident commander.
Participants will exercise the necessary skills to direct and coordinate all aspects of a hazardous materials incident by implementing the incident management system, developing and coordinating emergency response plans and decontamination procedures, demonstrating the understanding of hazards associated with employees working in chemical protective clothing, analyzing incidents and identifying action plans, completing documentation, and completing final termination requirements.
Lunch is not included.
