THIS COURSE HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL SPRING 2018.
This course consists of three separate 40-hour modules providing education and training for fire and arson investigators, including all program requirements of NFPA 1033: Professional Qualifications for the Fire Investigator. Students must attend all three modules. The program covers multiple topics and requires significant student participation, reading and homework activity.
- The text book included with this course is Fire Investigator: Principles and Practice. Additional resources for the program include NFPA 921: Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations and Kirk"s Fire Investigation (not included).
- The practical requirement for the class involves a “burn cell” demonstration and includes hands-on investigatory elements.
Modules I through III of the program must be taken consecutively.
Firefighting gear is not required; gloves and work boots are recommended.
THIS COURSE IS HELD AT THE QUINN FIRE ACADEMY, 558 WEST DE KOVEN STREET, CHICAGO, IL, 60607. Some class days may be held off-site; additional information available on the first day of the course.
This class requires a minimum of 22 students to be enrolled. Tuition payment is required before the course begins.
