NIPSTA presents this 40-hour, State-certified program designed to provide basic rope rescue skills to all participants. Training topics include safety, equipment, anchors, belays, low-angle rescues, and patient packaging.

Fire Apparatus Engineer at NIPSTA
In April, NIPSTA offers Fire Apparatus Engineer (FAE), which is a six-day, State-certified program that is available in a convenient two-week format. The curriculum emphasizes practical evolutions and allows students to participate in hands-on training daily. In addition, attendees receive course credit from Oakton Community College. NIPSTA Members also receive a 20% tuition discount. Click here to register.
Firefighter Training Programs Announced
The success of the NIPSTA Firefighter Academy has led to the delivery of additional educational programs on the NIPSTA Campus:
The Fire Officer series of courses (I and II) is one of the most successful programs delivered on the NIPSTA Campus each year. Hundreds of students receive year-round instruction that satisfies the learning objectives of the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal. Participants return to their departments with an enhanced sense of leadership and professionalism that improves their on-the-job performance.
