Benefits of Membership
The Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy offers a one-of-a-kind cooperative approach to emergency preparedness and response. On a 20-acre Campus in Glenview, Illinois, NIPSTA delivers programs and services that address the public safety needs and professional standards of local government and private industry.

Training Facilities
NIPSTA boasts many specialized indoor and outdoor Buildings and Props in a training environment that is unlike any other in the region. Facility Use by NIPSTA Members is available upon request.
Education
A year-round calendar of training opportunities is offered on a variety of public safety topics. Members are eligible for discounted tuition, priority registration, and "members only" training. All programs are timely, practical, and multi-disciplinary: fire, police, EMS, public works, and private industry.
Intergovernmental Cooperation
Intergovernmental cooperation is the hallmark of NIPSTA. Members combine their energies and resources in support of the Academy Mission Statement. This philosophy of mutual aid extends beyond government and professional boundaries. The result is an organization governed by a Board of Directors dedicated to integrating training and communication, and providing members with an economical means of protecting the public interest. Firefighter Candidate Recruitment
NIPSTA extends to fire departments an opportunity to participate in a Firefighter Candidate Recruitment Program. Testing is scheduled throughout the year to accommodate the hiring cycles of different departments. The costs may be shared by the participating agencies, or the testing may be scheduled at no cost to departments. There is an opportunity for collaboration on the Written Exam or the Physical Ability Test - or both.
Regional Resource for Emergency Response
In addition to serving as a premier destination for public safety training, NIPSTA is home to regional, statewide, and national emergency responders. Several organizations utilize the NIPSTA Campus as an educational facility and as a staging area for specialized vehicles and equipment. Among them:
