A collaborative partnership between the Cook County Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Management and NIPSTA results in local delivery of this Incident Command System (ICS) programming for public safety, public health, and other emergency response professionals. 

This training ensures compliance with federal government requirements to receive emergency preparedness grant funds.  It is offered tuition-free (subject to limitations below) for personnel who require advanced application of the ICS during large-scale events.

Prerequisites:

Successful completion of ICS-100 and ICS-200

Command or General Staff experience is recommended

Audience:

This two-day program is intended for individuals who may assume a supervisory role in expanding incidents or Type 3 incidents, which may involve activation of some or all of the Command and General Staff positions, as well as Division/Group Supervisor and/or Unit Leader level positions.  The audience for this training includes representatives of Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Management Agency, Fire Service, Hazardous Material, Public Works, Government Administration, Public Safety Communications, Health Care, and Public Health.

Tuition:

This training program is provided through federal grant funding administered by Cook County and the Cook County Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Management.  Therefore, tuition fees are waived for those who serve primarily within Cook County, including Cook County employees, or employees of a municipality located wholly or partially within Cook County, or members of a mutual aid team that serves Cook County.

All others are welcome to attend, subject to a $150 per-person tuition fee that is payable to NIPSTA upon receipt of an invoice.
