Internal Affairs and Professional Standards for Fire Services

The professional standards model is a must for fire services and to be prepared before a critical incident occurs. This tow day course sets the stage for fire executives, internal affairs investigators and supervisors to create an agency-wide practice of professional standards for all agency operations and how to thoroughly investigate complaints against employees. In the covered materials, attendees will understand "best practices" including how to avoid the problems before they occur, properly address issues that do arise. This a comprehensive course covering the entire internal affairs process through final discipline.
The instructors for this course are Dave Traiforos who has over 40 years of experience in fire services and Greg Anderson who has over 34 years of law enforcement experience. Dave has been the Fire Chief in two different departments and currently instructs on fire service practices. Greg has served on on the International Association of Chiefs of Police committee on Professional Standards, Image, and Ethics and instructs nationally on professional standard and internal affairs. He has consulted with governmental agencies across the country on discipline matters and has personally investigated and managed thousands of such cases and has instructed on this topic for over 10 years.
