Rope Operations (40 hour)

Program Description

NIPSTA’s Rope Rescue Operations program is designed to exceed the requirements outlined by the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal "OSFM", and provides students with the basic knowledge and skills needed to perform basic rope rescue at the NFPA 1006 Operations level. Students will leave prepared to operate as a member of a regional team capable of responding to statewide emergencies involving CBRNE or WMD, where basic rope rescue may be needed. NIPSTA's Rope Rescue Operations program is being offered though a partnership with Elevated Safety LLC. The course will be held on NIPSTA's Glenview campus over four (4) ten-hour days.

Rope Operations Task Book Workshop (8 hour)

Program Description

NIPSTA’s Rope Rescue Operations Task Book Workshop program is designed to exceed the requirements outlined by OSFM for accumulating recertification points for those who hold and with to recertify their Rope Rescue Operations certification. This class is designed to accumulate tally points for rope rescue operations recretifications as well as bring rescue technicians up to speed on new equipment and techniques as they relate to rope rescue operations and assist with the completion of the OSFM Rope Operations Recertificaion Task Book (2022). Students will particiape in a series of NFPA 1006 requisite skill reviews as well as updated technique and equipments evolutions.
