Incident Safety Officer (40hr)

NIPSTA's Fire Department Incident Safety Officer is designed to exceed the requirements outlined by the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal "OSFM", and provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to preform as an incident safety officer (ISO) as defined by NFPA 1521.

New for 2024 - a "blended" format which will allow students eight (8) course hours to work through the required textbook material beginning one week prior. The remaining thirty-two (32) course hours will be presented on campus where students will complete the remaining JPRs via classroom discussion, critical thinking exercises, and hands-on activities.
